One of our affiliate businesses is recruitment and headhunting. We shortlist professionals and refer them to our clients who take them on-board. I often interview candidates from entry level to C-level jobs. Immaculately dressed people get cutting edge first impression advantage. Corporate dress of Pakistani business ecosystem is pant/shirt or suit. Here are few guidelines for men regarding dressing.
- Wear suit (pant/coat). It will give you an edge over simple pant and shirt.
- There are only two colors in suiting: Black and bluish. Prefer black.
- There are only two colors of shirts: White (milky white, off-white) and Blue (light blue, sky blue, navy blue). Plain. No lines.
- Double cuff shirts with cuff links add to your sophistication
- Wear aggressive tie.
- Tip of tie should touch the belt.
- Only black belt.
- Freshly polished smart shoes (rocket shaped). Only black color. No brown. No other color. Laces and without laces, both work.
- The color of socks should match your suit.
- Freshly shaved or in case of beard, smartly trimmed.
- No dressing is complete without vibrant smile.
Ladies have wide choice when it comes to corporate dressing. They can enjoy colors, styles, from tight jeans to abbaya. Modest and trendy dress is recommended. Enjoy your colors.
The 48 Laws of Power is a great book that I often recommend to my readers and fans. Listen carefully to Robert Greene:
“The way you carry yourself will often determine how you are treated: In the long run, appearing vulgar or common will make people disrespect you. For a king respects himself and inspires the sentiment in others. By acting regally and confident of your powers, you make yourself seem destined to wear a crown”
